WYSC 2016 Qualification Criteria

Note: given the combination of late August date and venue in France, few if any of the qualifiers are likely to take up their places.

Eligibility

A youth player is eligible to represent Singapore at WYSC 2016 if he or she is:

an SA member and a Singapore citizen or permanent resident from the end of qualifying period (QP) to the commencement of the WYSC;
is born on 1^st January 1999 or later;
has played a minimum of 16 SA-rated games during the QP;
has played in at least two different SA-rated tournaments during the QP;
and has a minimum SA rating of 1500 at the end of the QP.

Qualifying Period

The QP is from 5 June 2016 to the conclusion of the 2016 National Championship or 22 August 2016 whichever is earlier.

Treatment of Byes

Byes will not be used in the calculation of ratings. Byes awarded to a player will count towards the 16-game minimum requirement; byes conceded by a player will not count towards this.

Selection Criteria

The places available to Singapore will be offered to eligible youth players after the conclusion of the QP from the highest-rated in descending order. Any spots available as players decline or become ineligible will be offered to reserves in descending order by SA rating.
